ABACUS fittings are for stainless steel pipes conforming to JIS 3445 General Piping Use and to JWWA G 115 Water Supply Use.
Do not use deformed pipes or pipes stained with foreign matter even if they are of the standard grade.

Cut the pipe square using a hand saw, a roller cutter or a high speed grinder.

Chamfering must be performed on every size of pipe, 1C on outside edge. Remove burr on inside edge if any. As a chamfering tool, a "Dendo-Reamer" is available.

Insert a pipe to an ABACUS fitting to the depth shown in the Table below. Apply marking or special seal to indicate level of insertion. "Marking-Reamer" ,a tool for chamfering and simultaneous marking of insertion depth is available.

Hold the nut and screw the plastic retainer clockwise by hand.

Hold the pipe with a vice or other tool and screw the nut counter-clockwise with a pipe wrench etc. Job is complete when the flange of the retainer abuts the end of the nut.

1. When storing the fittings, keep away from direct sunlight, sand and dust.
2. Do not disassemble the fittings.
3. Re-use of the fittings is possible by replacing the Retainer with a new one which we supply separately.
